Crosswalk Search

The Crosswalk Search allows you to use codes from other classification systems to find the corresponding O*NET-SOC occupations. This function can save time when you are familiar with occupations in other systems and want to explore corresponding occupations in O*NET.

To find O*NET-SOC occupations that correspond to occupations in other classification systems, enter a code, partial code, or title from the selected crosswalk.

Search by Code

In the example below, we search for a watchmaker using the partial Classification of Instructional Programs (CIP) Code "47.04" yielding 6 corresponding CIP codes and titles.

Select the "Go" button. The screen display reads:

The search results include 47.0408, "Watchmaking and Jewelrymaking". Underneath this CIP classification, there are five O*NET-SOC occupations, including 51-2093.00, "Timing Device Assemblers, Adjusters, and Calibrators", the O*NET-SOC classification for watchmakers.

For any occupation listed, select its title to see more information about the corresponding occupation. For more information on these options, see OnLine Help for Summary, Details, or Custom Report.

Search by Title

The crosswalk titles can also be searched using one or more keywords. In this example, we search for a watchmaker by entering the term "Watchmaking", part of a CIP title.

Select the "Go" button. The screen display reads:
